Join us for a combo of conversation, interactive prompts, and zine-making to create a collective memory of this moment of re-opening.
As we enter a new phase of this pandemic, many of us are wrestling with contradictory feelings (joy, anxiety, hope, FOMO). Relieved to be in community with our beloveds again but also struggling to adapt. We’ve been waiting for this moment for so long, and now that it’s actually here (and is it really here?), it can be hard to figure out how to be in this new season.
So as things “open up again," this workshop is about creating openings for ourselves. Through a combination of conversation, interactive prompts, and a zine-making exercise led by Ruby member, Christie George, we’ll create a collective memory of this moment and process together what just happened.
What were the big griefs and small losses that are impossible to forget?
What were the tiny triumphs that we can name and celebrate?
Are there new habits and routines we developed that we’d like to continue?
Were there relationships that fell by the wayside that we should leave behind for good?
We’ll be talking about time, memory, liminality and how to use this period of transition to honor this surreal year and imagine the future we want to live into.
What To Bring:
1 8.5” x 11” blank piece of paper + something to write with + scissors
[If you are the bedazzler type, bring colored pens, crayons, markers. But you can do the activities with just a paper and a pen].
Note: You do not have to be crafty, arty, creative or even good with scissors to participate. This workshop is much more about intuition and reflection.
