Shibori and Indigo Dyeing with Kristin Arzt

Learn the ancient Japanese resist-dyeing technique known as Shibori, along with the alchemy of natural dyeing with indigo. In this workshop, you will learn how to set up your own indigo vat. We will cover several styles of Shibori techniques to create unique designs. You will leave with four indigo-dyed napkins and a tote bag.

All materials will be provided, but wear clothing that is comfortable and you won’t mind getting a little dirty. Bring an apron if you like.

Feel free to bring your own natural fiber goods to dye (cotton, hemp, linen, wool, etc.), but please avoid bulky pieces (towels, linens, bedding etc.).

PLEASE NOTE: For Ruby members, there is a materials fee of $35, payable at the start of class. For nonmembers, this is included in the cost of your ticket. Space is limited!
