Founder Heather Rader grew up in Ashland, Oregon and earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Oregon, where she cultivated a fascination for the coveted Pinot Noirs of that region in addition to other fine wines. After living and working in New York for the National Football League in their sponsorships division, she made the move to the Bay Area. She fell in love immediately with San Francisco and the wine regions surrounding it , where she worked in the corporate sector leading sales efforts at companies such as Monster.com, multiple start ups, and now her own boutique marketing company dedicated to serving other small, boutique wineries.
